Q. Why should I buy Green Babies™ baby body care?
A. We developed this line to meet or exceed the Whole Foods Market™ Premium Body Care standards which are amongst the most stringent out there. Guided by the precautionary principle our products were fromulated to perfection by our brilliant chemist to be safe and pure for babies. And because we understand your baby is the most precious person on the planet, we choose to never shortcut or shortchange our ingredients. After years of research and loads of testing on babies' bottoms, we are thrilled to introduce our newest addition, the wallet-friendly, Green Babies baby body care line for your newest addition.
Q. Where are the Green Babies™ body care products made?
A. Our products are manufactured in Canada.
Q. Are your products hypoallergenic?
A. Hypoallergenic cosmetics are products that produce fewer allergic reactions than other cosmetic products. Green Babies was designed with babies in mind to contain no potentially irritating substances. All our formulas have been clinically tested to be non-irritating to the skin.
Q. Are your products gluten free?
A. People who have celiac disease or gluten allergy choose products that are gluten free especially those applied close to the lips and above the chin. Even though absorption of gluten through cosmetics and personal care products is minimal, persons suffering from this disorder are best served by avoiding products that contain gluten.
Although our product does not contain gluten, we cannot guarantee that all of the products manufactured in our facility also do not contain gluten. However, given our cleaning procedures and the material controls that are in place, the possibility of cross contamination is nil.
Q. Are your products tear-free?
A. Yes, Green Babies™ baby care products have been vetted by third-party independent labs to be “non-stinging” to the eyes.
Q. Do you test on animals?
A. No, we do not perform any testing on animals.

Q. Are you using 100% natural, fragrances in your products?
A. Yes, we only use 100% natural fragrances in our products. We do not use nature-identical or synthetic fragrances in any of our formulas.
Q. What is a “natural fragrance”?
A. All ingredients are directly derived from the natural source vie extraction, distillation or mechanical means. No ingredient is ‘created or synthesized’ via a chemical reaction of any kind.
Q. Why do you use alcohol in your detangler and lotion? Isn't that drying?
A. We get asked this question all the time and it stems from the confusion about the word "alcohol" in everyday use and "alcohol" as a chemical term. When used as a chemical term (as we do in our ingredient lists) - alcohol means that the chemical has an -OH at the end of the molecule.
Alcohols such as ethanol (the alcohol in beverages) or isopropanol (rubbing alcohol) are low molecular weight, liquid solvents and dry out the skin and hair.
Cetearyl Alcohol (which is the ingredient in our detangler and lotion) is a high molecular weight solid. It is a waxy conditioning material found naturally in many vegetable products and functions to hold moisure to skin and hair - not to remove water. It makes the hair soft, smooth, easy to comb, protects the hair from sun dammage and exposure to free radicals which can damage the hair. It does the same for skin where it has a soft luxurious feel and helps keep the skin soft and supple.
Q. How are you reducing your environmental footprint?
A. Green Babies bottles utilize post-consumer recycled materials to reduce packaging consumption. Our bottles are made from a minimum of 50% post-consumer recycled (PCR) high-density polyethylene.
